The Television Crossover Universe Celebrates Gordon Long!

Image
Gordon Long is the final of the original Crew to discuss.  Gordon was a founding member of the TVCU Crew along with Ivan and James. Like the previous two Crewsies I discussed, I met Gordon Long also in the Wold Newton Family Yahoo group, where Gordon, among other things, was the master of linking fictional characters based on names. When I created the Crossovers Forum, Gordon was one of the earliest and most active participants, and when the TVCU website was launched, he became one who contributed a lot of ideas and discussion relevant to the TVCU.  He really got what the TVCU was about.  He gets crossovers and he happens to know a lot about classic TV, in such detail that makes him a great resource for me. So it was a no-brainer that he was also a founding member of the TVCU Crew when I created the idea.  And Gordon enthusiastically jumped on board and wrote some of the most excellent crossover chronologies on this website.  Sadly, after a while, Gordon h...

Call-Out for Writers

THE TELEVISION CROSSOVER CROSSOVER UNIVERSE  LAUNCHED JANUARY 10, 2011 CELEBRATING FOUR YEARS  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Writers wanted for TVCU Crew: The Next Generation. As the TVCU enters its fourth year, many of us have moved onto other projects, while still trying to hold on dearly to our roots in the TVCU. I never want to stop doing the TVCU, despite the books, nor do I want it to become one of those stagnant, dead sites like has happened to so many of my other favorite fan sites. If you are  a fan of the TVCU, and why are you reading this if you aren't, if you have any topic you'd like to tackle, please do so. For those who are already admins on the blog, you of course need no further permission to post, but for anyone else, feel free to submit to me if y...

Don't Go Br-Br-Br-Br-Breaking My Heart: Of Groundhogs, Three Strange Men, Particle Accelerators, and Time Bounces 1951 May 30 Three triplets are born to the Ryerson family: Ned, Sandy, and Mitch. (Deduced from later entries. Birthdate from actor who played all three characters, Stephen Tobolowsky.) 1962 February 5 Birth of Ellen Besch; she had a twin sister. (Based on the birthdate of actress Jennifer Jason Leigh, who played Ellen Besch in the film "SWF".) 1965-68 The Ryerson triplets attend Case Western High School at some point along with Phil Connors. (Derived from quote in Groundhog Day. The real-life Case Western Reserve University is in Cleveland, Ohio. Presumably, this school would be, too.) 1971 The twin sister of Ellen Besch drowns. Ellen will later suffer survivor's guilt. (Ellen's sister drowned at age 9; see previous entry.) 1972 New York City business executive Myron Castleman experiences a time loop, or time bounce, of one hour. He discov...
