We interrupt your regular broadcast for this special announcement!

Hi, gang.  Yes, this is the TVCU blog.  No, this isn't a chronology.  And no, this isn't actually a special announcement.  I just wanted to take a break from the usual crossover chronologies to say hi and thank you to our readers.   If you follow this blog, then you know that as the new year began, we started posting here again quite regularly, and even have tried some new things, such as the TVCU Crew Reveiws and the Quickies.  But I also wanted to point out some other crossover goodness. I've been writing a book, which I hope to have done by summer's end, called the Horror Crossover Universe.  It's kind of like what I do here in this blog, but the format is different, it's far more detailed, there's not cut and pasting.  All my original brilliant writing.  And it's all about fictional crossovers in the horror genre.  And not just television and film, but all genres of horror fiction. Once the book is done, I will be moving right ...

Friends: A TVCU Quickie

What's a quickie?   See this blog. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Friends  is an American  sitcom  created by  David Crane  and  Marta Kauffman , which originally aired for ten seasons on  NBC  from September 22, 1994 to May 6, 2004. It revolves around a circle of friends living in  Manhattan , a borough of  New York City . The series was produced by Bright/Kauffman/Crane Productions , in association with  Warner Bros. Television . The original executive producers were  Kevin S. Bright ,  Marta Kauffman , and  David Crane , with numerous others being promoted in later seasons. Kauffman and Crane began developing  Friends  under the title  Insomnia Cafe  between November and December 1993. They presented the idea to Bright, with whom they had previously worked, and together they pitched a seven-page treatment of the series to NBC. After several script rewrites and changes, incl...

Television Crossover Universe: A TVCU Quickie

THE TELEVISION CROSSOVER CROSSOVER UNIVERSE  LAUNCHED JANUARY 10, 2011 CELEBRATING FOUR YEARS This was the first quickie.  Quickies were created as a means of covering a topic when time was limited, or if the subject in question was noteworthy enough to discuss but did not have enough material fora full chronology.  These and the TVCU Crew Reviews were very useful in keeping this website active in a time when the TVCU Crew members were all very busy. Soon both the quickies and Crew Reviews will be returning. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to the first of the TVCU Quickies.  See the previous blog, "The Final TVCU Crew Review" for a description of the Quickies.  But basically, I don't have time to do the full blog chronologies but was unhappy with the Crew Reviews, so I'm doing something halfway in between for now. So my first of the...

THE SECRET ORIGIN OF THE TELEVISION CROSSOVER UNIVERSE: WHAT IT IS AND HOW IT CAME TO BE THE TELEVISION CROSSOVER CROSSOVER UNIVERSE LAUNCHED JANUARY 10, 2011 CELEBRATING FIVE YEARS THE FIRST POST, AND THE MOST IMPORTANT POST. THIS IS THE POST THAT EXPLAINED WHAT THE TELEVISION CROSSOVER UNIVERSE IS. IN MY OPINION, ANY NEW VISITOR TO THE WEBSITE SHOULD ALWAYS READ THIS POST FIRST, AND NOBODY SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO COMMENT IN THE TELEVISION CROSSOVER UNIVERSE DISCUSSION GROUP IF THEY HAVEN'T READ THIS POST. HOWEVER, FROM MANY OF THE COMMENTS I GET ON MY POSTS, AND FROM SOME OF THE POSTINGS IN THE TVCU DISCUSSION GROUP, IT’S CLEAR THAT MANY "FANS" OF THE TVCU DO NOT REALLY UNDERSTAND THE TVCU, AND HAVE NEVER READ THIS POST. AND THAT MAKES ME SAD. PLEASE, YOU DON'T WANT ME TO BE SAD, DO YOU? JUST READ THIS POST. This introductory post was first posted on January 10, 2011, but has since been updated. Most recent update was March 9, 2016. Our first post was Janua...
