Robin Hood

This is going to be like other TVCU blogs regarding historical and literary characters, in that I'm only focusing on television and film appearances within the TVCU.  I hope you have read this before you go and tell me about a book that I left out. 12th Century--RABBIT HOOD--I know, you're thinking this should be in the AU section.  Nope.  Bugs' 12th century ancestor must have accidentally wound up in the TVCU through a rift.  This takes place during the events of the Errol Flynn film. 12th Century--THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD--This is the official TVCU Robin Hood, brought in oddly enough by an official crossover with Bugs Bunny.  (I could have tried to put this in the Looniverse, but the Looniverse version is a fox.  Also, the version in the TIME TUNNEL intentionally was made to look like the version from this film.) 12th Century--ROBIN HOOD:  MEN IN TIGHTS--Robin of Locksley returns from the Crusades to find an evil Prince John in charge.  Robin leads a band

November 1908--YOUNG INDIANA JONES CHRONICLES--"Vienna, November 1908"--Young Indy meets Sigmund Freud.  Sigmund Freud has met Sherlock Holmes and also has appeared on BEWITCHED, I DREAM OF JEANNIE, STAR TREK:  THE NEXT GENERATION, FRASIER, and SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH. Before 1982--TOOBWORLD--Check out this blog by Toby O'Brien bringing up some interesting facts and speculation about the early life of Sam Malone before Cheers. 1982 to 1993--CHEERS--In one episode, Sam Malone directs his employees to send sick customers to St. Elegius Hospital. February 1982--CHEERS--"Superbowl Pre-Game Show"--The lost episode, the transcript of which you can read here. October 1983--CHEERS--"Little Sister, Don't Cha"--Carla Tortelli mentions having had her latest baby at St. Elegius Hospital. March 1985--ST. ELSEWHERE--"Cheers"--The staff of St. Elegius Hospital go have a few drinks at CHEERS. 1987--THE TORTELLIS--Carla's e

Picket Fences and Chicago Hope

You might be wondering what a show about a quirky small town and a hospital drama have in common, and why they would be in the same blog, but the two shows are indeed interconnected, and it just makes good sense to cover them both together. 1972--PICKET FENCES--Sheriff Jimmy Brock and Dr. Jill Langston are wed by the Reverend Henry Novotny.  He has previously officiated the wedding of Mike and Carol Brady and before that been an Army Chaplain at  Camp Crowder, Missouri and married Rob Petrie and Laura Meehan. 1994 to 2000--CHICAGO HOPE--Dr. Kathryn Austin is shown to have won the Cushing Left Anterior Descending Artery Award.  Dr. Mark Craig of St. Elegius is a previous recipient.  Also, Dr. Austin mentions that her mentor is Dr. David Domedion, who had previously appeared on ST. ELSEWHERE. 1994 to 2000--CHICAGO HOPE--On this series, a reporter talks to Doctor Austin about being accepted into the space program, and mentions that another doctor at County also was accepted, r

MIGHTY MOUSE, HERO OF THE LOONIVERSE

Mister Trouble never hangs around When he hears this Mighty sound. "Here I come to save the day" That means that Mighty Mouse is on his way. Yes sir, when there is a wrong to right Mighty Mouse will join the fight. On the sea or on the land, He gets the situation well in hand. source: http://www.lyricsondemand.com/tvthemes/mightymouselyrics.html 1184 B.C.--THE TROJAN HORSE--In Ancient Greece, the mice of Troy allow in a Trojan horse filled with cats, but Mighty Mouse travels back in time, summoned by the Gods of Mount Olympus, to save the day.  (Mighty Mouse was arriving from July 26, 1946.) Medieval Times--THE CRACKPOT KING--Mighty Mouse travels back in time from November 15, 1946 to stop an insane cat king and wolf wizard.  This wolf must be of some relationship to the Big Bad Wolf. 1703--ALADDIN'S LAMP--Mighty Mouse travel's back in time from March 28, 1947 to rescue the daugher of Aladdin.  However, this Aladdin (which must be a common name

Happy Days / Laverne & Shirley / Mork & Mindy

This was the trio of series that began my hobby of connecting the dots and piecing together shared realities by crossovers, so it's surprising I waited until 18 months after starting the TVCU blog to cover it. February 1955--LOVE, AMERICAN STYLE--"Love and the Happy Days"--Pilot for the TV series. 1957 to 1967--HAPPY DAYS--The story of the Cunningham family, and their adopted juvie, Arthur Fonzerelli, who has the super power of being cool (similar to Austin Powers' mojo). December 1957--HAPPY DAYS--"Guess Who's Coming to Christmas"--The final appearance of Chuck Cunningham. Note that following this, Fonzie and the Happy Days Gang will head off on a time travel adventure, and then return at the exact point that they left, though much time has passed for them.  Following this time adventure, Chuck seems to have ceased to exist, as in the finale of Happy Days, Howard Cunningham states he has only two children.  This is why time travel is bad.
