So let's get this over with first.  As a kid,  I loved the Dukes of Hazzard.  My friends and I would ride our bikes pretending to be driving the General Lee and making jumps.  It was a fun show.

I get that the Confederate flag in itself is now considered to be offensive.  I indeed personally agree with that.  However, when I see it atop the roof of an orange Dodge Charger, the meaning of that symbol completely changes for me.  It then represents good ol' boys, never meaning' no harm, makin' their way, the only way they know how.

They were good guys, fighting for the common man against the corrupt government.  

Chronology 1:  The Live Action Series -- The Television Crossover Universe (also known as the Horror Universe)

March 1963--THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW--"The Darlings Are Coming"--Gordon Long says:  It's not exactly a crossover, but I just realized that the Darling clan who lived near Mayberry must be related to the Duke family. Not only do the patriarchs of the two clans (Briscoe Darling Jr and Uncle Jesse Duke) look and sound alike (yeah, I know, same actor-as-cousin characters principle) but both families have musical abilities (the four Darling sons were played by a country musical group, the Dillards, and the Duke boys' actors John Schneider and Tom Wopat were country singers).  Also, in addition to the common last initial of both families 'D', the Dukes were involved in moonshining and the Darlings were shown to have moonshine jugs around that they made music on, but there is that subtle hint they did moonshining, too. (And in some films from the 2000s, Uncle Jesse---then played by country star Willie Nelson---also is a proponent and user of marijuana.)  The original tv series was based on a film called The Moonrunners. The director, Gy Waldron, originated The Dukes of Hazzard. So it's pretty obviously while a few things have be explained (like the Duke-equivalents Uncle Jesse and his family are Haggs in the film), the Moonrunners is part of the Dukes continuity.   I also found out that the lady who played the daughter Darling on the Andy Griffith show and in the films also played the character on an episode of Nashville Now, a country music talk show similar to the Tonight Show or Letterman, etc. on The Nashville Network. As many country performers showed up on the Dukes as themselves it is a totally cool crossover with the Charlene Darling character.  Oh, and Robert will love this---a recurring character on Nashville Now was Shotgun Red, a very muppet-like puppet....  Shotgun Red was also a recurring character on Hee Haw---just don't recall if he was in any of the recurring sketches or just like the recurring country music guests. More crossover fun for Robert!

1970--THE DUKES OF HAZZARD:  THE BEGINNING--This is the movie that came out in 2007.  As seen on screen it would take place in TVCU3.  Just slightly tweaked, it's a prequel to the feature film in TVCU2.  If that feature film is in 2005, then this would take place in 2000 in the TVCU2.  However, if we ignore modern technology and pop culture references, the story takes place when the cousins are around 16 years old.  The boys don't have their drivers' licences yet, and Daisy is just old enough to get a job, while they are all still in high school.  This movie was meant to be a prequel to the feature film and another origin story.  

1975--THE DUKES OF HAZZARD--This is the movie that came out in 2005.  As seen on screen it would take place in TVCU2.  However, if we ignore modern technology and pop culture references, the story itself takes place when the cousins are around 21 years old.  They are old enough to order drinks in a bar, but their friend that they grew up with is still in college.  This movie was meant to be a prequel to the series (other than being set in the present) and an origin story.This movie includes an appearance by Ramathorn and Rabbit from Super Troopers as Campus cops however for the purposes of this timeline they are the Fathers of the Characters seen in Super Troopers

1975--MOONSHINERS--This movie better fits in the Cineverse, but the basic storyline probably also happened in the Dukes continuity, explaining how the Dukes came to be legally restricted to Hazzard County.  



1979 to 1985--THE DUKES OF HAZZARD--The adventures of the fast-drivin', rubber-burnin' Duke boys of Hazzard County.

January 1979--DUKES OF HAZZARD--"One Armed Bandits"--Matt Hickman says:  In One Armed Bandits the premiere episode of The Dukes of HazzardCooter Has and Drives a Red and white 1975 Gran Torino Better know has the Starsky & Hutch car. thing is according to the commentary it actually one of the ones used on the Show. which begs the question of how Cooter got it



1979 to 1980--DUKES OF HAZZARD--"Jude Emery"/"Mason Dixon's Girls"--The second season episodes "Jude Emery", about a Texas Ranger, and "Mason Dixon's Girls", about a travelling private investigator and his female associates, were both pilots written by Dukes creator Gy Waldron for proposed new shows. Both failed to sell.

Let's say 1979--From Toby O'Brien:  Brian Hoffman, a professional Red Skelton impressionist, with the General Lee from "The Dukes if Hazzard". Keeping the Freddie the Freeloader character alive.....





1980 To 1989--80's Wrestling Mania---Boss Hogg Mangers various Pro  Wrestlers in Different Federations   throughout the   1980's(80's Wrestling Mania is a Mobile Game  where you run  your own Werstling Federation all of the Characters are Expys of real wrestlers and pop   culture figures of the 80's including one of Boss Hogg called Big Boss Jr. I'm going to count them has the actual versions for TVCU purposes)

1980 to 1981--ENOS--Enos spins off to his own series when he gets a job as a cop in the big city.  Click here for Thom Holbrook's review.

Cooter's Place in Hazzard County

General Lee

SUMMER - STAR CARS - A Schablotski family trip to Florida is waylayed by a speed trap in Hazzard County, GA. Zee decides to fight the ticket, rather than pay it and leave, which strands the family for the duration of the planned vacation. While there, Ron witnesses an exhibition race for charity between the local favorite Duke boys in their Dodge Charger "The General Lee", celebrity road racer Jim Douglas in his VW Beetle "Herbie", and an unknown racer that the Dukes knew who drove a Trans Am and went by his CB handle "The Bandit".  During the race someone steals the proceeds from the event, and the Bandit is framed for the crime. The three Schablotski boys (Godzislaw III, Ivan, and Fritz) manage to sniff out the real thief, with the help of Ron's werewolf sense of smell, and one hilarious car chase later the money turns up, supposedly misplaced as an honest mistake, and all charges are dropped against Godzislaw. With no vacation time left, they return to Louisville KY, but not before stopping in Mayberry NC and enjoying a pie at a local diner
Hazzard County, the Duke Boys, and the General Lee are all elements from the television series THE DUKES OF HAZZARD (1979-1985). Jim Douglas and Herbie are from Disney's THE LOVE BUG (1968) franchise of movies and television series. Bo "Bandit" Darville is from SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT (1977) and its sequels. The community of Mayberry, North Carolina first appeared inTHE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW (1960).





August 1982--Massarati and the Brain--From Gordon Long: Very good! Wish I had been a fan of these shows during their heyday (other than The A-Team and The Dukes of Hazzard). The Streethawk connection is a good catch, and that Katherine Reece/Melanie Ryan/Adrienne Margeaux/Bianca Morgan/___ St. Clair are all the same person is inspired. There's another role that could have been her, played by the same actress. In Massarati and the Brain, a failed pilot, she plays one person who is masquerading as someone else. The idea of the series was that 'Mas' Massarati is a rich adventurer-for-hire who uses lots of electronic gadgets to do his work. The gadgets are built by his 12-year-old nephew, Christopher 'The Brain' Massarati (played by Peter Billingsley, Ralphie from A Christmas Story). They have a butler named Anatole played by Christopher Hewitt (Lawrence on Fantasy Island, and of course Mr. Belvedere) and are friends with a sexy spy leader played by Markie Post (Night Court). In this story, Mas and The Brain are trying to steal back an art collection from a neo-Nazi played by Christopher Lee. The actress plays Wilma Hines, who masquerades as Diana Meredith. You'll notice there's another character with a last name starting with M. (IMDB says it as a treasure of rare coins and the kid is 10, http://www.ovguide.com/movies_tv/massarati_and_the_brain.htm# gives the info I gave above). I have to admit I haven't seen Massarati and the Brain, just going from IMDB. But I do think it is interesting that Anatole and Lawrence didn't have other names, so one wonders if those two could be the same character. And prior to this, Hewett had a role as an unnamed butler in a 1979 ABC Afterschool Special. Robbie Rist is a spoiled rich kid whose tv suddenly shows 'Aunt Thelma' (played by the legendary Butterfly McQueen), a fairy godmothe/genier type who is going to teach him a lesson by giving him 7 wishes in order to impress a girl (played by Cynthia Nixon, most famous for her role on Sex and the City). The Seven Wishes Sweepstakes... I checked with my wife Kim, the world's foremost Fantasy Island fan, and Lawrence was never given another name (either first or last). So it is possible that Lawrence, Anatole, and the unnamed butler character are all conflatable as the same person, but I would really need to see both Massarati and the Brain as well as Seven Wishes of a Rich Kid to know for certain. Neither have been released to DVD yet.Seven Wishes of a Rich Kid was a sequel to an ABC Weekend Special, The Seven Wishes of Joanna Peabody, which aired the previous year. It also had Butterfly McQueen as Aunt Thelma and another adult played by Garrett Morris from Saturday Night Live. One IMDB reviewer thought it would have made an excellent Twilight Zone episode, high praise indeed! Apparently it was based on a book by Genevieve Gray. That episode HAS been released on dvd and is available at the Phoenix Learning Group, Inc., whose page states that it was part of the National Educational Film Festival. I have not, however, found any info about the book online.

1983--THE DUKES--An animated version of the show called The Dukes aired in 1983. The first season fell under the Coy and Vance era of the live-action show and thus they were adapted into animated form. By the second season, Bo and Luke had returned, and they replaced Coy and Vance in the cartoon.  I feel the cartoon could fit.  The season with the replacement cousins comes first in the cartoon, and they are racing around the world against Hogg and Roscoe.  So I'm saying chronologically, this would take place prior the season 5 of the live action show which introduced the replacements.  In the season where Bo and Luke are not there in Hazzard, it's because they were finally legally allowed to leave the county, and went back on the racing circuit.  So the second season of the cartoon, with Bo and Luke, probably takes place just before they return to the live action series.  If you really hate including the cartoon, it probably also fits in the Cartoon Universe, although I haven't yet found a crossover to place the Dukes in the Cartoon Universe for my upcoming Cartoon Crossover Encyclopedia.

1987--SCOOBY-DOO MEETS THE BOO BROTHERS--Sorrell Booke voices the role of a bungling, southern sheriff, much like his character Boss Hogg on The Dukes of Hazard.  This may take place earlier in the timeline because of the aging of Mystery Inc. in the TVCU.  This could also exist in the Cartoon Universe in 1987 (where aging doesn't matter) but the Boss Hogg link is enough to make it onto a TVCU blog post, but not strong enough for the stricter standards I uphold for the Cartoon Crossover Encyclopedia.

1997--THE DUKES OF HAZZARD:  REUNION!--Hazzard County is having a reunion festival, which includes a Toughman-style contest, and a rattlesnake chili cookoff, along with several other events. Uncle Jesse is the grand marshal of the reunion and at the same time, is facing a lawsuit filed by Mama Josephine Maxx for access across Duke property to the Hazzard swamp where she intends to build a theme park. However, Jesse refused access, not wanting to see the swamp destroyed. However, this has made the rest of the townsfolk angry with him, as the new theme park means new jobs, and revenue for Hazzard County.

2000--THE DUKES OF HAZZARD:  HAZZARD IN HOLLYWOOD!--Hazzard in Hollywood follows up on the first reunion movie, The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion! and begins with Bo and Luke Duke partaking in the Hazzard County festival which features actual country music star Toby Keith as himself.  When an old enemy of the deceased J.D. Hogg, Ezra Bushmaster, arrives in Hazzard, he donates a significant amount of money to the hospital fund, on the condition that the people of Hazzard are able to raise the rest by a certain amount of time. A music promoter on vacation in Hazzard says he'll buy the master tapes of the performances of music stars who performed in Hazzard. So the Dukes decide to travel to Hollywood to sell some country music recordings to raise the rest of the money.

2000--Super Troopers--Five Vermont state troopers Get up to Wacky Hi-Jinks and even mange some police work.  It's in the TVCU2 entry.  The same actors from Super Troopers are playing campus police in Dukes of Hazzard (2005), with the same character names, and same personalities, in a film by the same writer/director. But Super Troopers also exists in the main TVCU timeline, so while Super Troopers 2 is in the main timeline, Dukes of Hazzard offers an alternate fate for two of the characters, in an alternate timeline.

2005--HAZZARD COUNTY--In 2005, the Humana Festival of New American Plays premiered a full-length comedy-drama entitled Hazzard County by Allison Moore. The story centers on a young widowed mother and a visit she receives from a big city television producer. Interspersed with recollections of Bo, Luke, and Daisy, the play takes a deep look at southern "good ol' boy" culture and its popularization through the lens of American mass media.

Summer 2007--PHINEAS AND FERB (Episodes 1 - 104)--Phineas and Ferb are extremely intelligent 10 year old step brothers who constantly seek out a new adventure each afternoon of the summer.  The fact that their parents are ignorant of the weirdness around them is an annoyance to their 15 year old sister.  Meanwhile, their pet platypus is only pretending to be normal as he really is a secret agent, constantly thwarting an evil scientists plans every afternoon.

• The brobots of "I, Brobot" originally appeared in an episode of The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. Jimmy Neutron probably takes place in the Looniverse, though. Santa Claus is also in this episode.
• In The Magnificent Few" Dr Doofenshmirtz has sharks with a laser beam strapped to their heads. It seems he bought these from Dr. Evil. Or, worse, Doofenshmirtz and Dr. Evil have teamed up to take over the world!
• A movie theater in "Are You My Mummy?" is showing Monkeyman 2. Monkeyman was a movie seen on Hey Arnold!
• In "It's a Mud, Mud, Mud, Mud World" one of the Evil Investors is a convict from an episode of the Mr. Bean cartoon "Missing Teddy." Mr. Bean finally has a crossover!  (Thanks to James for many of these crossover finds.)

  It's probably not his original model, unless the museum tried to partly dismantle it so as to be inoperable, but it definitely follows his original design. Perhaps after he dismantled the original machine at the end of Stephen Baxter's The Time Ships, the Time Traveller built this as an impoved second model (even if it fails to look half as cool).

•  In the same episode, "It's About Time," a chair with rockets attached can be seen in the museum. This is a refernce to the Chinese legend of Wan Hu.

   I don't know what to make of this one. In the episode "Tree to Get Ready" Town Hall and the Mayor both greatly resemble Mr. Mayor and Town Hall from Powerpuff Girls. We know Phineas and Ferb does not take place in the Looniverse, but in theTVCU; we've previously established Powerpuff Girls as being in the Looniverse.
  
  Solution one: move the Powerpuff Girls into the TVCU, with "Townsville" being a codename for Danville. Solution two: assume that the Mr. Mayor and Town Hall of Phineas and Ferb have the same relation to the versions of Powerpuff Girls as the TVCU George Washington has to the various Looniverse Washingtons.
• In "Unfair Science Fair" a girl displays a work-harness that has four metal octopus arms. Perhaps she is the original Doctor Octopus' granddaughter or great niece. Phineas and Ferb build their own stargate.
• Phineas and Ferb already had the Necronomicon featured in the background of one episode.  
    it was sitting on the bookshelf of the recurring mad scientist's study. Had nothing to do with the plot. Wasn't read or acknowledged, and most viewers likely didn't recognize it. But there it was. (It was even labeled.)
• Spaceballs - There is a suck/blow lever in Doof's lair, referencing Spaceballs.
• Frosty the Snowman - When Perry puts a hat on a snowman, it comes to life and walks in a random direction. This is what happens in the song and TV Special.[5]
• The Wilkins Brothers are played by the actors who played the Duke cousins in The Dukes of Hazzard.
• Geico - Candace states that she doesn't want to save money on car insurance, a reference to a series of commercials in which a person receives a phone call about saving money on car insurance.
• the two are seen running through a jungle of Venus Fly-Traps looking plants. These plants look like Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors.
• The Incredibles - The ballpit boy who sees Agent P is similar to the boy who is always on a tricycle on the Parr's driveway.
• The 'Mr. Banana' company was based on the same company in Kim Possible, where Monique works.
• Club Penguin - The "missing agent," Gary the Gander, has the same name as a main character penguin, Gary the Gadget Guy, who also works with an elite spy organization, where he is also known as Agent G.
• Casino Royale - Agent P's stop at Monte Carlo features a game of Baccarat and background music in the style of the James Bond movies.
• At the end of a movie within an episode, the building in the background looks like the school from "Recess".
• Danville Canyon looks like Springfield Gorge from the Simpsons, also from the Road Runner cartoons.
• The name "Spinning Tops of Doom" is an allusion to the Disney Channel series Kim Possible.
• The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius - The cows poop nuts and bolts, like Goddard and there are similar robotic bulls in the episode Fowl Bull.
• Pele's Curse - Candace getting a curse from the necklace she found that causing her to have bad luck. The idol is also a reference to the Brady Bunch's Hawaiian Vacation (right down to the identical "theme music") where Bobby finds an idol that brings him bad luck, but he initially thinks it's a good luck charm.
• Peter Pan - When Doofenshmirtz is explaining to Perry why he was on Pink Unicorn Island, he says, "I wanted Skull Island right over there, but it was already booked ...." This is a reference to the island of the same name.
• Pippi Longstocking: - A girl resembling Pippi is in the group of humans during A-Prime Calypso. The only difference is she's wearing a green bathing-suit.
• Lilo and Stitch - The guy who lays on Candace when she's on the beach chair looks like the guy who drops his ice cream in Lilo and Stitch. The man has the same shades, and swim suit as him. Also, Candace's Hawaiian outfit looks similar to one of Lilo's dresses. Lilo and Stitch also live in Hawaii.
• The disturbance in the universe that Baljeet senses is a reference to the Force.
• During the Tree-Related Wish song, a bear can be seen sitting next to a tree and reading a newspaper. The bear is seen again during the end credits after Rusted, saying, "Yes. Yes, I do." The two appearances are a combination allusion to the "Charmin Bears" series of commercials for Charmin toilet paper and to the sarcastic/rhetorical question about what bears do in the woods.
• At the end of "Wizard of Odd", Isabella instructs Abraham Lincoln, Santa Claus, an astronaut and Pinocchio to follow the yellow sidewalk, among others.  

2013--AUTO TRADER--John Schneider and Tom Wopat have recently been featured reprising their roles as Bo and Luke Duke in ads for Auto-Trader.com. Then The General Lee gets replaced in the commercial with the new generation version which is a 2013 Dodge Viper which is General Lee the 2nd.

April 2015--SUPERNATURAL--"Angel Heart"--Castiel tries to reconnect Claire with her mother who went missing, and calls Sam and Dean for help with the case.  Sheriff at murder scene is Sheriff Coltrane.  Relative?  Not strong enough link for the Horror Crossover Encyclopedia, but a fun thing to include here on the website.
